The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is seeking outstanding candidates for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. We seek applicants with significant accomplishments and future potential in any area of materials science and engineering. Applications from candidates working in the field of bio-materials, electronic and functional materials, nano- and quantum materials, materials processing and additive manufacturing, and the mechanical properties of materials are especially encouraged. The facilities available in the Department include an exceptional electron microscopy-based characterization center and a multi-purpose X-ray characterization facility. In addition, surface characterization and microelectronic fabrication facilities are available on campus. The Technion provides competitive start-up packages and family-friendly re-location packages.

Prospective candidates are expected to have a PhD or equivalent degree in Materials Science and Engineering, or in a closely related field (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering), and to have proven their ability to conduct high quality materials-oriented research following their PhD. Successful candidates are expected to establish an independent research group, to acquire research funding from competitive sources, to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching activities, and to participate in the Departmental administrative activities. The instruction at the Technion is mainly conducted in Hebrew and knowledge of, or the willingness to learn, Hebrew is expected.
